Conservation & Community

We recognise the interconnectedness of all things, realising that a healthy ocean will ensure our survival as a species.

We take conservation seriously and try our hardest to minimise our environmental impact. Environment comes before profit.

Every month we host a community clean up event, with a different theme and focus. From dive sites and beaches littered with fishing debris, plastics and cigarette butts to road sides, car parks and commercial areas with stormwater drains that lead to the sea. These events are open to anyone wanting to help out. Keep an eye out on our social media pages for more information.

Once a year we host a charity event to raise funds for a local non-profit organisation doing big things. 2020 we hosted a “Float 4 Wildlife” to raise funds for South Coast Wildlife Rescue who were tirelessly rehabilitating and feeding injured animals after the devastating bushfires that swept through the region.

We don’t use any single use plastic items on board our vessels or on our tours. We constantly find plastic wrappings and disposable cups from other “eco” operators. It’s not on. It causes huge amounts of unseen damage.

Beware of greenwashing.

We don’t serve animal products on our boats. We have a strict ‘no touch and no harassment’ policy. Interactions between us and the creatures of the sea are only ever on their terms.

As part of the Freediver Course, we plant a she-oak tree in honour of each student. This helps to offset carbon from our boats, revegetate a neglected reserve behind our house but most importantly will one day provide food for the endangered Glossy Black Cockatoos which frequent the area.
